Job Description

The Parts Department is seeking a professional, detail‑oriented, and customer‑focused individual to join
our team as a Parts Department Sales Counter Person. This role requires strong technical knowledge,
excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform a wide range of responsibilities with accuracy,
efficiency, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and capable of
working both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent, simultaneous
demands.
Key Responsibilities
● Provide respectful, tactful, and professional customer service across all communication
channels, including in person, phone, email, text, and delivery interactions
● Assist customers and internal staff with accurate parts identification, ordering, and product
information
● Perform cashiering and money‑handling duties with accuracy and integrity
● Execute inventory management, including receiving, stocking, organizing, cycle counts, and
maintaining accurate inventory records
● Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
● Utilize internal software systems for order processing, inventory control, and communication
● Demonstrate comprehensive computer proficiency, including accurate typing and electronic
documentation
● Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating deliveries
● Apply mechanical understanding and knowledge of automotive parts and their uses to support
customer and departmental needs
● Pick up and deliver parts to and from various businesses as needed for order fulfillment and
sales support
● Conduct all pickup and delivery tasks in a professional, safe, courteous, and efficient manner
● Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high‑demand environment, balancing phone calls,
online orders, counter sales, service department needs, technician requests, and delivery
coordination
● Maintain consistent productivity and accuracy during periods of sustained pressure and rapid
workflow
● Work independently with minimal supervision while upholding high standards of professionalism
Qualifications
● Prior experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a parts or service environment
● Strong understanding of mechanics, automotive components, and parts applications
● Proficiency with computers, typing, and electronic systems; ability to learn new software quickly
● Strong organizational skills, particularly in inventory control and parts organization
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on professionalism and customer
service
● Ability to follow instructions, learn processes efficiently, and retain information
● Professional appearance and conduct
● Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries between personal and work responsibilities, including
responsible use of personal devices during work hours
● Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Compensation
Compensation for this position will be competitive and commensurate with the individual’s
experience, performance, and drive for success.
In addition to base pay, this role includes a sales commission component, which will be discussed in
detail during the interview process.

Job Requirements:

Automotive Parts Counter Qualifications:

  • Must be a customer-oriented, self-motivated team player
  • One to two years of prior automotive parts experience is required, either from a retail parts outlet or a dealership setting.
  • Must be computer literate
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule that will include some evenings and Saturdays
  • Must have a valid driver's license and few to no points on driving record.
